Drama Club Gears Up for Alice in Wonderland

District Strategic Goal #2: Create a Satisfying and Productive Classroom Learning Environment

This morning, 5th graders that are members of Drama Club rolled up their sleeves with their sponsor, Mrs. Pitzer, and parent volunteers to work on set design for this year’s production of “Alice in Wonderland.” The performance will be on April 15, 2013 at 6pm at DGS. Enjoy the iMovie created by Mrs. Pitzer that showcases today’s hard work!

Drama Club

District Goal #2 is:

To obtain a satisfying and productive classroom and school learning environment

DGS drama kings and queens are ready to take the stage.  We had our first meeting this Tuesday where we participated in a team building activity.  The students were split into groups and ask to build a star with blocks.  Each group had to interpret what they thought that meant.  They quickly learned how important it was to develop a plan, work together and learn when to change course when things don’t go as planned.  After hearing about what other groups did to be successful, we took all that information to help us build one big star.  It was fun to have everyone working together toward a goal and every role being an important one.

We were also able to create our mission statement: We the dramatic kings and queens of Drama Club will experience how to be a star, learn how to be dramatic at the right times, embrace our awesomeness and be ourselves. We will do this by listening, participating, working together and enjoying ourselves with friends new and old.
We are looking forward to a fantastic year of learning how communicate and perform in front of an audience.
